Every suite meets the 250 sq ft rule
Since January 1, 2026, Georgia law (HB 551) requires each dealer’s established place of business to be at least 250 square feet, unless that location sells 500 or more vehicles a year.
The Board doesn’t measure only the room with your desk. Under Board Policy CL-1, it counts every interior area connected to your office that you can access and use, such as conference rooms, hallways, restrooms, breakrooms and storage. It’s the standard the Board uses to decide whether a new dealer’s location meets the requirement.
Every suite we offer new applicants qualifies on that basis, so the size rule is covered before you apply. Read Board Policy CL-1.

Common questions
Do your offices meet Georgia’s 250 sq ft rule?
Yes. Since January 1, 2026, HB 551 requires each dealer’s established place of business to be at least 250 square feet, unless that location sells 500 or more vehicles a year. Every suite we offer new applicants qualifies.
Does shared space count toward the 250 sq ft minimum?
Yes. Under Board Policy CL-1, the Board counts all interior areas connected to your office that you can access and use, such as conference rooms, internal hallways, restrooms, breakrooms and storage areas, not just the room with your desk. Every suite we offer new applicants meets the minimum on that basis.
How fast can I get licensed?
Your suite address can be ready as early as the day you sign, and the office is set up within a week. From reservation to license typically takes 3–4 weeks, depending on your seminar, bond, insurance and the Board’s review.
I only sell online. Do I still need an office?
Yes. Selling online doesn’t change the rule: a Georgia used car dealer license requires an established place of business. Your office is that address, and you can run your sales from anywhere.
Can I use my home as my place of business?
Rarely. Georgia allows it only where local zoning permits, and the office must be a separate building from your home, open to the public and inspectors during business hours, with its own business phone line. Most subdivisions and HOAs rule that out. You can still work from home; the office is the licensed address where your records are kept.
Can I keep or show cars at the office?
No. The building is zoned for brokers without a display lot, so no inventory can be parked or displayed on the property. Plan separate storage for your vehicles.
Are the offices zoned for auto brokers?
Yes. You get a signed zoning certificate to file with your city business license application, along with a sample of a completed application.
What does it cost?
$349 a month at the Dealer Ignition member rate, subject to availability. Joining Dealer Ignition is free. Longer terms lower the monthly rate. At move-in you pay a security deposit, a setup fee and the prorated first month.
Can I move my existing license to your office?
Yes. File a change of address with the Board along with a zoning certificate, your surety bond with power of attorney, an insurance certificate and photos of the new office and signage. You may also need a new city business license.
